Would you help an abandoned equestrian circus troupe from Russia?

Russian Troupe
The magic of Artania.

Lisa and Jackie Blackmon would.

The couple had learned that Artania, a Russian equestrian troupe, was allegedly abandoned in Dallas by its promoter. They were left with little water and food for the horses, no electricity, and no money. The Blackmons, who are the owners of Black Star Sport Horses in Rockwall, Texas, took it upon themselves to provide shelter for all nineteen horses at their facility. They also helped find housing for the talented, classically-trained performers.

The Blackmons weren't the only ones willing to step in. Many people from the community also came forward to help out the troupe. They provided food, money, and one Texan even paid for a life-saving, emergency surgery for one of the horses.

The troupe of Russian performers had been performing to sell-out crowds in Europe and Canada before coming to Dallas. The performers put on a Cirque du Soleil-quality show that features Kantemirov Family Cossack warriors, 19 rare Russian horses, more than 50 aerial artists, contortionists, gymnasts, and a whole lot more.

After Lisa saw how concerned the performers were for the horses, and how skilled the men were, she said she fell in love with them. To help the troupe raise funds, she and her husband Jackie have offered to host a show at Black Star Sport Horses on August 1st. Please visit for show information.
