Many great horseman have stepped into the Road to the Horse round pens to prove their mettle and showcase the best natural horsemanship has to offer, but in 2011 something unprecedented will occur. For the first time in the event’s history the man who coined the term natural horsemanship will himself step into the spotlight as a competitor. Natural horsemanship pioneer Pat Parelli will join two-time road to the horse champions Chris Cox and Clinton Anderson at the World Championship of Colt-Starting in Murfreesboro, Tennessee on February 25-27, 2011.

“Pat Parelli is a natural horsemanship living legend and we are honored to have him compete in the 2011 Road to the Horse Legends. It has always been my dream for the event to bring the three greatest horsemanship educators of our modern time under one roof, and 2011 is the year we will see that dream become a reality,” says event producer Tootie Bland.

Since coining the term natural horsemanship over 20 years ago, Pat and his wife and teaching partner Linda Parelli have dedicated their lives to changing the world for horses and humans. By reaching more than 200,000 people in over 35 countries across the globe, the Parelli program has given horse lovers across the world the opportunity to create lasting relationships with their equine partners by replacing fear, force and intimidation with love, language and leadership.

Competing at Road to the Horse for the first time but with a lifetime of knowledge and experience to back him, Parelli will demonstrate the holistic training program that so many top horseman and avid horse lovers have come to rely on.

“My number one goal in February is to bring a natural training approach to the forefront of an event that works with horses at such an important stage of their life. I am determined to educate Road to the Horse attendees about the patience and temperament required to communicate naturally with horses by demonstrating the skills and techniques necessary to establish a trusting relationship between horse and human," says Parelli.

General admission bleacher tickets are on sale now at www.roadtothehorse.com. In addition to the publicly available seats, a special prime seating block has been set aside for members of the Road to the Horse Nation. Road to the Horse, the World Championship of Colt-Starting is unlike any other event in the equine or entertainment industry. The two-day sold out event matches three of the country's best horse trainers and clinicians of today against one another as they train unbroken colts to ride in just a few short hours in front of a packed live audience and television cameras. By combining education, edge-of-your-seat suspense, entertainment and the love of the horse, Road to the Horse has been responsible for solidifying the position of today’s horsemanship heroes and launching the careers of tomorrow’s hottest new stars. In the process, the event itself has become a catalyst for the advancement of natural horsemanship. Hosted by Rick Lamb, of RFD-TV’s The Horse Show with Rick Lamb, spectators are guaranteed not only to have a good time, but also to walk away with training knowledge that will improve their relationship with horses.
